So, I'm pregnant!!! Ten weeks and two days to be exact and more excited than ever! After our two previous miscarriages and finding out that I was diabetic, this is a shock and major reason to celebrate! I found out that I was diabetic on May 31st. The doctor told me not to get pregnant until my numbers were a whole lot better, and that was definitely the plan.
BUT, some things are meant to be. And where God's timing is involved, there is little to do to avoid what is supposed to be. That being said, I must've ovulated early, because our casual encounter one afternoon (that in no way, shape or form was supposed to lead to a baby) actually lead to a big, fat positive! Much to our surprise. :)
And while, so far, it has been a huge learning experience and leap of faith, things are going better than expected and our little blip is growing like he or she is supposed to, which is amazing and so exciting! At the first ultrasound where we could see "baby", the heart rate was about 163. At the second, we could see little blip moving and little arm buds, and the heart rate was 179. Super great and my early predictions are that it is a girl! :)
I have been feeling really good. I have had very little nausea or morning sickness, and aside from being able to sleep on command and my boobs hurting, the only other symptoms I'm having are burping and moodiness (slight).
G is also doing great! He is super excited and cannot wait to have a baby to play with and teach chess, music and magic to. :)
Early nursery color schemes are yellow and mint, and ideally, it would include a Jenny Lind crib and other white furnitur pieces. I am so excited and decorating a nursery!
I am so excited about everything really and cannot heleuve this is really happening. It is such a gift from God! And I feel so blessed!
Milestones:
Aug 11 - Big Fat Positive
Sept 7 - First image of baby at high-risk sonogram
Sept 13 - Saw baby move and 179 bpm
Sept 20 - 10 week mark! Woot!
